About the Association

The Baragoola Preservation Association Incorporated is a non-profit, community-based organisation which was formed to restore, preserve and operate the historic Manly ferry “MV Baragoola”. The restoration is carried out by members of the Association – our volunteers. The Association is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW) and has formally adopted the WHS Act 2011.

 Our Mission Statement:
           
“To restore, conserve, protect and operate the MV Baragoola as a leading example of Sydney’s historic ship-building prowess and to facilitate the restoration in a manner sympathetic to her history, material and iconic place on Sydney Harbour.”               
The Baragoola Preservation Association Incorporated is a charitable organisation established for the purpose of restoring and maintaining the MV Baragoola as an important part of Sydney’s maritime heritage. The Association is listed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) with the ATO.       
Funding:
 
The Association sources funds from sponsorship from private individuals, commercial and corporate organisations interested in supporting the project. All donations are welcome. We are very grateful for the many sponsors who have already donated so generously towards the project. All donations are tax deductible. For the purposes of tax deductibility the following are considered suitable gifts by the AustralianTaxation Office:


$2 or more – 100% tax deductible;
Property > $5,000 – property valued by the ATO at more than $5,000;
Property < 12 months – property purchased during the 12 months before the gift was made;
Trading stock – trading stock disposed of outside the ordinary course of business;
Cultural gifts – gifts made under the Cultural Gifts Program;
Cultural bequests – gifts made under the Cultural Bequests Program;
Heritage gifts – places included in the National Heritage List, the Commonwealth Heritage List or the Register of the National Estate
